Time goes by fast, and each birthday comes with a small panic attack reminding me that. Luckily, it is not as scary as it was when I was younger. Maybe I’ve learned to embrace change instead of fearing it.

Here are some lessons I’ve learned in my young 26 years of life that I hope can help you:

  1. Take care of your health. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, socially, financially, in every possible way. You are your biggest and top priority.

2. Identify your fears. The decisions that will transform your life usually lie behind your fears.

3. Dating is a just a bunch of beginnings and endings. Enjoy it.

4. If you wouldn’t treat yourself a certain way, don’t let others treat you like that.

5. Get to know yourself. Ask yourself questions, what are your favorite foods? What’s the most important thing for you at this point in your life? What are the top 5 values you live on every day?

6. An investment on yourself is never a bad investment.

7. We are all different, accept it. Just because you really care about something, does not mean that your brother, partner or friend will also care the same way. Projecting yourself on others can push those we love away.
